Diana Smirnova and Elizaveta Trifonova, students of SSTU Socio-Economic Institute, began their studies at Aalen University (Germany) under the Erasmus + KA1 international academic mobility program, according to the plan of the international project Erasmus + KA1, dedicated to academic exchanges of students and teachers, which is carried out by SSTU and Aalen University (Germany), in the spring-summer semester 2021.

Sergei Timakov military technical relay race was held at SSTU on April 30, 2021. This relay race has being organized at the university for many years and is dedicated to SSTU graduate Sergei Timakov. He was an active representative of the university and died during the fighting in World War II in 1942. After the war, the institute prize for sporting achievements was established in his honor. Since then, every year on the Victory Day’s eve SSTU students compete for this prize.

The Student Spring is the program for the support and development of students’ creativity in Russia, which is carried out in the form of a competition. Every year the Student Spring ends with a competition concert.

Every year SSTU holds the international competition of computer works among schoolchildren and university students "Digital Wind". The purpose of the competition is to reveal the intellectual potential of young people in the IT field, to draw attention to the latest information technologies. The age of participants is from 7 to 25 years old. The partners of the Digital Wind are major Saratov IT companies: divisions of Epam Systems, Neoflex, NetCracker, Grid Dynamics and others.

Digital Breakthrough is the largest competition for professionals in the digital economy. The All-Russian competition is aimed at revealing the talent of specialists in the field of information echnology, design and digital project management. The competition consists of 8 thematic hackathons (a hackathon is an event when IT specialists complete tasks for a certain time).

On April 13 SSTU held the dance flashmob that continued the series of festive events in honor of Cosmonautics Day.

Today at 15:00 SSTU holds the university open day.

In March 2021, the Preparatory Department Bashkir State University held the V International Photo Contest "We are studying in Russia!"

On April 12, Vladimir Putin visited the Space Explorers Park in Engels together with the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the first woman-cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, the Governor Valery Radaev, and Russian cosmonauts. The excursion for the guests was led by Inna Buikevich, the head of Yuri Gagarin People's Museum of SSTU Professional Training College.

On April 8, SSTU hosted the ceremony dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first human space flight: students laid a time capsule in which they left the message to the future generation.
