Personalities

Within the framework of this research area, the following results have been developed:

• methods for assessing the reliability of investments in transport projects based on the assessment of the risk of loss of net present value and the internal rate of return of the project;
• the methodology of forecasting the service life and risk (rate) of destruction of projected and existing road surfaces with the determination of strength and spatial parameters of the layers of the structure, as well as taking into account the quality of construction and the adopted drainage system;
• methods of managing the condition of the existing pavement based on reducing the risk of structural failure to an acceptable value over the period of the predicted service life;
• methods of designing geometric elements of highways (radii of curves in plan and longitudinal profile; coverage widths of two-lane and multi-lane roads, etc.), the parameters of which are taken according to the permissible risk of an accident in various road conditions and with the analysis of various traffic situations;
• methods of speed limits on forbidding road signs 3.24 within dangerous sections of highways based on risk assessments (according to the magnitude of the permissible risk of an accident);
• the author of more than 250 academic publications have been published, including 3 normative documents, 14 monographs and 6 manuals on the design, construction and operation of automobile roads with the application of assessment of the risk of accidents and structural collapse.
